BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA Troop 124 - St. Margaret's Parish The history of St. Margaret's Boy Scouts of Troop 124 dates back to the year 1934. A survey was made by Mr. Louis Virag, the present Scoutmaster. A large number of boys were enrolling in the Scout Troops belonging to Protestant Churches in the neighborhood. This situation must be remedied. With the assistance of Rt. Reverend Monsignor Koller many of' these difficulties were cleared. St. Margaret's Conference of the St. Vincent De Paul Societyoffered to sponsor the troop. Application for, the Charter was immediately secured. The work for character building was begun in earnest and during this short period oftime our boys have attained the require- ments as tenderfoot Scouts. The climaxof this work was reached at the fifth Anniversary of Troop 124, on May 9th, when our parish witnessed the Solemn Investiture Ceremony. Rt. Reverend Monsignor Koller officiatingat this ceremony brought to light the important elements of the Scout Movement, its aims and their service to God and community. Rt. Rev. Msgr. Koller ....
