A telegram-booth at the February Frolic captivated Janice La Vine, Marcia Mengelboch, Julie Ann Cloutier, Carolyn Hendricks, Mary Connor, and Ann Pope. Let them eat cake! say Ramona Dischinger, Gretchen Enck, and Mary Ellen Buirge—sponsors of a cake-walk at the Winter Festival. The Alumnae Association turned over proceeds from the Festival to the Academy for a scholarship fund and for school equipment. Mrs. Mary North and Mrs. Frank Murray were co-chairmen for the affair. St. Joseph, whose statue on the landing in Main is the center of Wednesday devotions, is the motivating force for much of SMA's spirit of charity.
