X I 5-H f I Hi, l' camp Paoenrss Four score and seven years ago--or was it a mere two and one- half years ago? any number, well sixty to be exact--of home- sick frightened, green horn, inquiring girls set out to be little Florence Nhghtingales. My, were they surprised when they turned out to be Sairey Gamps. Well, that's neither here nor there. They started, and now they are nearly finished. August 30--1959, was the red 'fxc - letter day. After waiting for what seemed an eternity each and every one of the sixty lassies embarked uponi the thing of their life. One by one they arrived. So many bags, lamps, cedar chests, I have never seen. Everyone was in a happy turmoil.' Then came Ria the I.QL tests--Yffftlt was then that the whole class de- cided nursing wasnft for them. HDear me, sitting in those . s gg nasty old hot class rooms and trying to answer questions we've never heard of. Guess we belong in the moron class instead of the gallant, glorious nursing profession.U However, with let- ters and food from home, pep talks and the WDO or dien atti- tude--on the poor probies trudged. Their first stream having been crossed, they were spurred to higher and mightier des- tinations. ' r Ringggsgsg--0Oh, that alarm...If only we could sleep five min- utes longer--can't see why in the world they start classes so early in the morning. Guess it's so we will have more time to attend more classes. High school was never like this. Don't see why we have to learn all these ,things before they let us work on the floors. Wish I hadn't stayed in the closet so long last night studying my chemistry. And to be interrupted so many times by those graduates turning off the lights was most annoying. I'll never learn all those bones and muscles. Can't see what good that is going to do us anyway. And Mrs. Chase-- she just isn't the least bit cooperative--oh well, Ifd rather take care of her than to try and clean. Honestly, there just isn't anything left to clean but those instructors seem to find a bit of dirt every place they look. Think they must har- bor a dirt pile in some dark cleset. What's burning--oh yes, someone must be in dietetics class.
