CLASS PROPHECY I had the craziest dream last night--I was sitting in the Fox Theater in San Francisco and was seeing the strangest movie. Ther were no stars in the picture, but it was like a newsreel or passin parade. A farm house flashed on the screen and there were six little children of various ages sitting making mudpies, then a woman came to the door and called one of the children. Low and behold! It was Doris Close Barnhart in one of the cutest aprons and she had flour all over her face. The scene faded as she said, HBarney, go help your father with the milking. I'm going over to the Stewart' to help Jean with her sewing.H The next scene was in a night club in Los Angeles. In a dar ened corner at a table surrounded by four very handsome men, sat Margaret Dillon as beautiful and glamourous as any Hollywood star. At that point, the floor show started and the Master of Ceremonie announced a yodeling cowgirl. Was I amazed when Charlotte Van Dyke came out to sing! Next on the program was the best--the stri teaser Marion HLa Bellen Hanson. The crowd was spellbound by her performance. The last act was the comedians, a team called HChet and Helenv, who did comic jitterbuging and told the corniest and rawest jokes permitted by the Hayes Office. The scene then changed to a hospital of all places. There a pompous as she could be sat Barbara Williamson, behind a desk mar ed with a plaque saying, HSuperintendent of Nursesn. At the sec- retary's desk, typing as fast as she could, was Dorothy Wright. A woman and her daughter walked into the office to inquire about the curriculum of the school. As I looked closer, I saw the wo- man was Elizabeth Schuchart. In the next room, Margery Griffith, Nursing Arts Instructor, started the girl and her mother on a tou of the hospital. Surgery was the first place they visited and there was Supervisor HPussU Clary, who was also the private scrub nurse of the Chief Surgeon. As they walked into the Maternity Department, they were met by Supervisor Gladys Hughes--the only advocate of the new technique of having mothers deliver in bed. She said that they could go into one of the rooms and see a mothe who was just leaving with her triplets. There were many exclama- tions as they entered the room, for who but Billie Widenmann Smit was the proud mother of the triplets. When the mother and daugh- ter were leaving the hospital, they ran into Doctor Phyllis Maas, who was now San Francisco's leading pediatrician. HGay's Shoppen, a smart dress shop in Washington, was the next scene. The proprietress, Gay Ashton was showing dresses to Jane Creighton and Lee Brown whose husbands were in Washington f the current session of Congress. Lee and Jane were telling Gay about seeing Major Catherine Davison at the Army Hospital when th went to see Shad and her twins. Gay said the Colonel and Mrs. Beldo had been in buying clothes for Louise's trip to Europe.
