GIRLS' GLEE CLUB HROUGHOUT The pasf year These girls have parTicipaTed in various musical performances and evoked unsfinfed praise from Those who heard Their rendiTions. Early in The year a maioriTy of The glee club members sang The solemn high Mass ThaT opened The iubilee weelc aT ST. Luke's. During ThaT celebraTion also This choir provided all The lifurgical music ThaT was rendered for The numerous religious funcfions. On The evening of The Senior Play a few of The selecTions, ThaT had formed parf of Their weekly rehearsals, provided enTerTainmenT befween The acTs for The audience. Among These were: Trees, by Joyce Kilmer: Barcarolle and Good NighT , all of which were sung in Two parTs. Eleanor Young, who has direcfed The glee club since she enfered ST. Luke's as a Freshman, again conducTed The singing of This choral group on This occasion. Eleanor has received many congraTulaTory commenTs on her direcTing and we feel iT will be difficulT To replace her nexf year. Besides The group Thaf is preparing To represenf ST. Lulce's aT The annual demon- sTraTion Mass, members of The glee club will also provide all The music for The firsT Mass of Reverend Joseph lvlanz, a former sTudenT of ST. Lulce's. SAFETY PATRUL URING The many years ThaT The SaTeTy PaTrol has been organized aT ST. l.ulce's, much has been done To insure The saTeTy oT sTudenTs around The school and To and Trom school by way oT buses. This worlc on The parT oT The paTrolmen group calls Tor selT sacriTice, obedience To auThoriTy and TacT in handling The sTudenTs. Their ideal is To preserve and uphold law and order among The sTudenT body. ln SepTember when our principal, SisTer PaTricia, issued a call Tor volunTeers There was an immediaTe and generous response. ln The course oT The mee-Ting The Tollowing oTTicers were elecTed: Nicholas Demedulc, CapTain: Joseph Kennedy, Eugene Daly, and John lvlanz, lieuTenanTs. The members were divided inTo Three separaTe squads, A, B, and C, each under a lieuTenanT. As in The preceding years This organizaTion has been under The able supervision oT The New Jersey STaTe Police, who monThly senT Troopers DougherTy, Zies, l-lunT, and Green. The spiriT oT cooperaTion beTween The Troopers, TaculTy, sTudenTs oT The school, and The members OT The SaTeTy PaTrol aided Tremendously in making The school a banner school oT saTeTy.
