TO THEM, THEN, Z lftlf' 6Ll 8lfLf5 WE, THE CLASS OF NINETEEN HUNDRED AND FORTY-SEVEN, DEDICATE OUR YEARBOOK. May the grace of God be upon them all the day long . . . until the shadows fall. Five Where ?riendA meet and greet 71011 In the Same d Way iw ' OUR WORLD ..... in which we grew and waxed strong in mind and body and soul these last few years centered around Saint Luke High School. Before we step out into a wider, less sympathetic world, we look back over the years to teachers and classmates, to studies and activities that made our little world unique as a gateway to a more complex world in which we'lI continue to work and play and pray. As we kneel in front of the Blessed Sacrament for Benediction on June eighth, we shall realize that we are at another commencement, not our first. The real com- mencement was at our baptism when we were admitted to the House of God. Commencement of nineteen hundred and forty-seven is iust one more step toward the ETERNAL COMMENCEMENT when the GATES of Heaven will open wide to receive us. Seven THE REVEREND JEREMIAH J. BRENNAN Pastor The class of nineteen hundred and forty-seven regrets that our dear friend and pastor is not with us in the closing days of our school life. We have missed his cheerful little visits and his inspiring talks. But we can never forget that it was he who made possible our education at Saint Luke High School. THE REVEREND EDWIN R. HEYl. Assistant Pastor Although Father Heyl hasn't been with us long, we have learned to know him through his in- spiring sermons, and his friendly manner. By example, he is helping us to lead Christian lives. Eight THE REVEREND JOSEPH J. LOWNEY Acting Pastor The diFficult task of administering the large parish that is Saint Luke's, Father Lowney has done willingly and zealously. May he be re- warded for his good work! Nine THE REVEREND JOHN D. FORDING Assistant Pastor Teacher of religion Advisor to high school students To Father Fording, the class of nineteen hundred and forty-seven, extends sincere appreciation for his assistance and interest in school activities -in sports and socials. We thank him, too, for his words of truth and wisdom given in religion classes. SISTER MARY BERNARD principal, teacher, friend All through our high school days, Sister Mary Bernard has been with us encour- aging and guiding us to be true citizens of this world and of the world to come. 7717 A guide, a friend, a tireless worker in our behalf, SISTER ROSALIE has made our world spin! if A N fa H if Ten -A M We're the class of forty-seveng we're the leaders in the school.
