High the Student Council has played an important part. This group held the one and only meeting each week which affected the entire student body. Meeting with representatives of all twenty-eight classes, the Council publicized and promoted the extra-curricular activities of the school and effectively instilled school spirit into all student proiects. These goals were achieved through the work of the Council itself and of committees assigned a specific task. One committee handled the announcing at football and basketball games, another provided the ushers at school functions, and still another or- ganized the pep-rally schedule and the rallies them- selves. To each committee fell the iob of mak- ing student life more enjoyable and more profitable. No little credit for a successful year is due to Father John Doyle, S.J., moderator of the Student Council, to Mr. Dennis Daly, S.J., assistant moderator, and to the officers of the Council, President Jack Bauer, Vice-President Pat McCauley, Secretary Jerry Mc- Nieve, and Treasurer Jim Dowd. Senior Class President .lack Bauer carries the senior class rings from a table in front of the main altar in the Student Chapel to the altar of the Blessed Virgin.
