N ,-2- 17 THE STUDENT who lays aside his textbooks for a Saint Louis Uni- versity High School diploma is, in every sense of the word, a complete graduate. ln presenting him with his certificate at commencement, his school authorities testify that he has satisfactorily completed a well- rounded course of studies, prescribed according to the most rigid require- ments of various educational associations. His cultural and scientific background here has been imbibed with an eye also to current demands of civil authorities. Extensive extra-curricular activities spiritual. intellectual. and ath- letic f have combined with an all-inclusive scholastic plan to afford the student a splendid training ground for his advance into the complex world of today. Jesuit training has taught him to apply himself diligently to the task before him, to make practical application of the arts of writing and speaking, to develop all his intellectual and physical faculties to the utmost, to mingle congenially with his fellow students. But, most import- ant, it has instilled in him paramount ideals and divine aspirations, equip- ping him with the necessary fortitude and enthusiasm to step forth into battlefield, college, or workaday world, and strive towards the urgent conversion of a perverted, pagan universe.
