GAMMA Pl Gamma Pi Epsilon, national Jesuit honor so- ciety for women, was founded at Marquette Univer- sity in 1925. It is an organization for women similar to Alpha Sigma Nu, the Jesuit honor society for men. Beta Chapter of Gamma Pi Epsilon was installed at the University in 1947, under the direc- tion of the Rev. Patrick J. Holloran, S.J. Qualifica- tions for membership are leadership, loyalty, ser- vice and scholarship. Appointment to the society is the highest honor that can be awarded a woman student. ALPHA Rev. Francis J. Guentner, S.J. SIGMA Alpha Sigma Nu, national Jesuit honor society for men, is the highest honor attainable at a Jesuit university. Members are selected on the basis of scholarship, loyalty, and service to the university. The society acts as a sounding board for student opinion, assists the administration in meeting needs of the student body, and holds an annual initiation banquet.
