4Qyy1 y R Leading his' 'troops 'against the French at Pampeluna, Don lgnatius y Loyola displayed. the crest of the leaping wolves, the military shield of his noble family. ,This crest was later to become' ,the battle symbol of the most' illustrious army Loyola ever' commanded. While recovering from wounds' received at Pampeluna, the Spanish officer decided to exchange his armor for a penitential cloak, subsequently founding. his army of God, the Society of' lesus. The same idealistic zeal and courage which marked' his allegiance to the Spanish crown also appeared in his devotion to God as a soldier- priest. Described as gatunt-faced and angular in his black robes, he transferred! ,aesthetic selkdiscipline and love to his Jesuit Order: Whether a- Jesuit stands before' his mission church in Yoro or leans across the class- room lectern, the stomp of dedication to truth in God and man is reflected in his consecrated duty. THE PRESIDE T W M M un -3 VERY REV. PAUL C. REINERT, S.J. President of the University The Very Rev. Paul C. Reinert, S.J., is in his thirteenth year as president of the University. He was graduated from Saint Louis University, has served as Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, as Vice-Pres- ident, and as Acting President. During his administra- tion, Father Reinert has inaugurated an extensive pro- gram to increase the University's facilities and to en- hance the educational opportunities which it offers. The most recent facets of this program are the purchase of Rogers Hall, the David P. Wohl Health Institute now under construction, and the Busch Memorial Center.
