Commerce and Finance Ri;v. Bernard V. Dempsey, S.J. The year 1910 marked the opening of the School of Commerce and Finance. The first freshman class of forty men met in the evenings in the Administration Building on Grand Boulevard. This year evening classes alone number 1492, vhile the School as a whole has a registration of more than three thousand. That there was a need for such a pro- fessional school had been recognized bv a farsighted few. The idea was developed by the Reverend Joseph L.
