Highly overrated to repeat the performance of their undefeated champion predecessors, the Gallant Knights from Kalaepohaku failed in this respect, but their display of undy- ing courage captured the admiration of all. The team was constantly hampered by injuries, and the coaching staff was faced with seemingly unending problems. Led by head coach Allan Nagata, and his two capable as- sistants, Leon Sterling and Jyun Hirota, the team overcame these obstacles to further add to the laurels of St. Louis. ' dngmfflie Sportsmanship was thoroughly stressed by the coaches in all matters whatsoever, and never can it be said that this vital virtue was overlooked for some less important detail. Sparked by the vicious line thrusts of Val Freitas, and the spectacular off-tackle plays of diminutive Albert Forsythe, coupled together with the feared pass combination of Herbert Okamura to Walter Cabral, the Crusaders landed near the top of the heap, being second best only to a great lolani team.
