We S The sprawling campus of Saint Louis College, basking in her own lush and tropical beauty, wel- comed her returning Crusaders on that cool, brisk September morning. The Spirit of Saint Louis would once again echo through her halls of learning. We were mighty Seniors then, and the reality of Com- mencement was soon to be ours. But with the outbreak of the Korean War, the United States was summoned by the United Nations Organization to help subdue the aggressive foes. The young men of Hawaii, as in the past, played an integral part in this international crisis, Thus, it was with heavy hearts that we bade these staunch Crusaders a fond Aloha. Enlisting with the Marine Reserves prior to the war, they were ordered to undertake a program of intensive com- bat training in preparation for the active participa- tion in actual combat of the war. Their great sacrifice, instrumental in securing our democratic way of life, will forever merit our gratitude and admiration. May our Blessed Lord, through the intercession of His Holy Mother, pro- tect and guide these true Christian warriors that they may safely return to the shores of Hawaii Nei.
