Tyau. mm Zaaeiall With the keen 'nterest to learn and gain experience, the junior baseballers, made up mostly at freshmen and sophomores, turned out for practice. They will be carefully trimmed for their seasonal games under the watchful eyes ot Richard Yoshimura. Although last sea- son they didn't do so well, this year there are chances tor a better team. Although the players are young, they are willing to spend their time in practice under the tutorfhip of their coach to learn both the fundamentals of baseball and tlfe true conduct of an athlete. They all realize that their baseball knowledge gained in the junior team might aive them berths on the varsity squad next year so that they may play to place another pennant into our trophy collection. 3.71 JUNIOR BASEBALL SCHEDULE l. g I Although there are but a few letter- men returning to the varsity swim- ming team, there are many prospects turning out this year. They are very seriously developing their condition and stamina to be ready for the big meets, the Yale, M.l.T., Junior Scho- lastic and Territorial meets. Swimming is considered one of the toughest sports because it is an in- dividual pertormance and requires 0 lot of courage, yet the eager swim- mers are willing to face it. Under the leadership of Sam Nahoopii and train- ing of Coach Sagawo, they will be a formidable team. Front row, I to r: F. Araki, B. Wong, R. Ubasa. Second row: L, Wong, E, Hee, S. Nahoopii.
