They were highly favored, but the Rough Riders were not to be denied. First quarter . . , game bitterly fought . . . SLC held on even terms. Both squads chalk up ten points. The sec- ond stanza proved favorable for the Saints, and they were able to squeeze a three-point advantage at half, 2l - l 8. Crusaders dominate the last two quar- ters. Harvey Lee and Harry Nakata raided the hoops for l l markers each. Score . . . 44-32. S.L.C. 57 PUNAHOU 25 A highly superior Crusader team flattened a not too hot Punahou five, by a 32 point margin. The Saints got off to a fast start, leading l5-3 after the first whistle and stretching it to a 22-8 halftime advantage. Proving who's boss, the RedandBlu quintet exploded in the third and fourth quarters for a total of 35 points while holding the Puns to l7 digits. Fparked by B. Molina, the Governors managed to eke out a l4-l 3 advantage at intermission. A new St. Louis quin- tet took to the court in the third canto, and outpo?nted the Govs, 22-IO for a 35 to 24 margin as the canto ended.
