.. gnu Cn May lO the ROTC unit held a review in honor of Brother Leo Rausch, President of St. Louis College. This was followed by the annual inspection on May 21. One of the outstanding achievements this past year has been the formation of the Rifle Team. Under the instruction of Maior Francis Aiwchi and Staff Sergeant loseph Silva, the members quickly mastered the fundamentals of rifle shooting and a charter was granted by the National Rifle Association. In the interscholastic competition St. Louis, competing for the first time, garnered 1694 points to take second place next to McKinley. Kenneth Wong, a sophomore student, was the sharp- shooter of the meet. He set a new interscholastic small bore record of l82 points out of a possible 200. His sharp eye contributed considerably to the success of the local team. Members of the first team were: Harry No- briga, Samuel Apuna, Bruce Wong, Lawrence Chun, Allen Wong, Samuel Ching, Kenneth Wong, Manuel Fernandez, Willard Lee, Martin Luke, Harvey Vasper, Amos Chun, Rudolph Thomas, Daniel Kop and Thomas Lake. One-two-three-tourr' The snappy cadence count of the St. Louis R.O.T.C. cadets reverberate through the campus at Kalaepohaku. Right turns, left turns, to the rear march, up and down the field they drill. Thus the mission of the ROTC at St. Louis is being accomplishedito inoculate habits of precision, orderliness and leadership. But drilling is only one phase of the training program. Lectures and classroom Work acquaint the cadets with army life, army weapons and tactics. Under the supervision of Major Francis K. Aiwohi, Assistant PMSGT, instructions are given by three instructors, Technical Sergeant Stanley I. Azevedo, Staff Sergeant Ioseph M. Silva and Staff Sergeant Gottlieb G. Coleman. This is the second year of ROTC at St. Louis.
