CRUSADERS ton. The team resurged from the dark abyss of defeat tour times, not just once, to snatch victory by one point. George Ku, under pressure, calmly kicked the goal that won the game. With the main obstacles surmounted, the Crusaders roared to victories in their final two games and right into the Thanksgiving Day classic which they have not missed for a long time. ln December, St. Louis played host to Las Vegas High, Nevada state champions, and showed the main- landers some island brand ot football to the tune of a 30-6 rout. r, TOP ROW, left to right: W. Soares, N, Chai. ini NEAL BLAISDELL, Head Football Coach St. Louis began the season in September with full confidence and high hopes of a banner year under the skilled guidance of Neal Rusty Blaisdell and Alien Nagata. The scene became rosier when the l947 model of the Red and Blue machine high-geared over Roosevelt in the opening game. Then as the best laid plans oi mice and men often go awry, so did the well-prepared applecart over- turn. Punahou blasted the Crusader hopes to bits and dealt the team such a mortal blow that it floun- dered disastrously in the next two games. The spirit oi St. Louis, of the Crusader of old, reas- serted itself more forcibly in the game with Farring-
