The Guidance Office was a familiar place for many students College planning and schedule changes dominated the scene. During Interim some counselors headed visits to campuses to help seniors with their college choices. Numerous class changes, coming from mix-ups in the new semester courses, kept most counselors occupied at the beginning of each semester. Mini-School, vocational placement and personal problems also filled the counselors' busy appointment book. Beginning with total concentration on the ball. With the pass no credit grading system, the student had a choice The many controversies over the grading procedures were ended with the introduction of the pass no credit system. Sophomores, juniors and seniors were given the option of selecting one course each semester on this basis. A student received a P when he had successfully completed all the required work. This was equivalent to a grade in the A to D- range. In the traditional program of letter grades, an N , a distinct change from an F was given when unsatisfactory work was done. An N , unlike an F , would not be computed in class rank, which meant that other grades would no longer be affected. Results of its appeal were seen in the number of students taking pass no credit classes first semester: 170 sophomores, 212 juniors and 280 seniors. PRINCIPAL: Bertil Johnson 19
