Members oi the club submitted any writ- ing they had to the president. Poetry, essays, plays, or any kind of original writing was accepted. So far no novels have been received! The entries were read to the members, and then discussed. Some works were entered in contests. All oi the writing enthusiasts agreed that it was an enjoyable and profitable way to spend some of their leisure time. DEBATE SQUAD CONDUCTOR: Miss Ringland The members ol the debate squad think 1-iccentucxte the Positive was written for them, because that is exactly what they did concerning the matter of lowering the legal voting age to eighteen years, The squad participated in many debates with other schools, taking both the negative and the aifirmative side oi this question, This group received a great deal of publicity when they went over to the State Legislature and talked on lower- ing the voting age, Heres hoping that the debate interest which came into the limelight at Park this year will continue to grow even more prominent in the years to come WRITEH'S CLUB S. The band and orchestra played at every pebtest, football, and basketball game, class play, Christmas play, and many other times too numerous to men- tion, Between halves at football games, our snappy looking band showed us some fancy drilling. Our school would not be the same without our band, for it is always on hand at every occasion. -Q- DIRECTED BY MISS SWANSON DIRECTED BY MR. BALCH 5,4 fwhgkgs rw 12 M ...W A.
