' 72-73 Pelican Slate Participants Five St. Louis students participated in the 72-73 Louisiana Boys and Girls State. The eight day affair took place at Louisiana State University campus in Baton Rouge. The students participated in mock state and city goverment elections and duties. Look Out, Russia! II From March 28 to April 18 our prin- cipal, Msgr, Robert Angelle, toured Hungary, Yugoslavia, and Russia to examine the educational systems and culture behind tlie Iron Curtain with other members of the National As- sociation of Secondary School Prin- cipals. The following several pages record his memories and comments about his once-in-a-lifetime experi- ences; although these memories are unclear, pictures and in- adequately brief excerpts, perhaps a feeling of another life can be felt by looking into the eyes of its in- habitants through the eyes of its observer. The average Hungarian is not aware of Communism in his life- -it is much less in evidence there than in Russia. There is a greater abundance of consumer goods, food, ci eature comforts, automobiles, pri- vate ownership, and even joie de vivre. f
