'Sw l Mu?-.M ' 'iunnnwif I , ia STUDENT ACTIVITIES BOARD The Student Activities Board at Meramec is the organized body on campus that determines how part of the student activity fee, paid at registration, is spent. It is made up of students representing individual clubs of- ficially recognized on campus, each having a vote on the dispensation of expenditures made throughout the school year. The Board brings the movie series on Friday nights, loans money to groups, and grants money to clubs to sponsor and further their individual endeavors. They allotted funds to the Social Committee who sponsored the variety of dances, noontime performances and con- certs that were enjoyed throughout the year. The Board, as a group, attended two seminars over the course of the year, one to Black River Lodge to learn to function better as a board, and one to Harper Com- munity College near Chicago to observe a student government similar to our own and to discuss mutual problems. BRIDGE CLUB The Bridge Club is a very active organization, spon- soring a regular Wednesday evening Duplicate Bridgez game and the Annual Intercollegiate Duplicate Bridges Tournament. The tournament, held this year on April 123 allows all college students within a five-state, 300 miles radius to participate. In addition to these activities, bakef sales were held to raise money for the club. Sally Zwibleman is the president, Richard Glick isf vice-president, Kathy Mills is secretary, and Mrs. Clairel Kearney is sponsor. POM POM The Pom Pom girls are a newly formed organization this year. Under the direction of sponsor Jo Branson, the 15 girls in the squad and alternates worked for two months, making their own uniforms and practicing the initial routines used at their debut game in mid-January. The group's choreography, arranged to Get Back, We're an American Band, the theme from Hawaii Five-O, and China Grove, livened up the half-time show at basketball games both at home and away.
