Phyllis Sarich Dr. Byron Barnes AQ19ha Zeta Chapter Lambda Kappa Sigma was organized under the name of Lambda Kappa Society at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, Boston, on October 14, 1913 by Ethel Heath, librarian of the college. In 1916 the name was changed to Lambda Kappa Sigma and during the next year the local society took steps to nationalize the sorority, becoming Alpha Chapter, upon the orga- nization of several chapters in other schools. The council of Alpha Chapter conducted the affairs of the sorority from 1917 until May, 1922 when a graduate Grand Council was organized. In September, 1948, a group of women formed a Card and Cake Club at the St. Louis College of Pharmacy and Allied Sciences in St. Louis, Missouri. Three years later they applied for recognition as a chapter of Lambda Kappa Sigma, and were formally installed on May 13, 1951, by the Second Vice-President, Mrs. Betty Susina. Since 1951, the Alpha Zeta Chapter has been growing proportionally as the number of women enrolled in the college increases. Each year the St. Louis College of Pharmacy sees more and more women pursuing the study of pharmacy, hence the Alpha Zeta Chapter anticipates unlimited progress in the future years.

James McCowan R120 Chapter Rho Chapter of the Alpha Zeta Omega Pharmaceutical Fraternity was organized at the St. Louis College of Pharmacy in the spring of 1942. The fraternity was organized by a small group of men who believed in and followed the basic principles of the fraternity until its activities were curtailed by the war. A reactivation of the Rho Chapter began in February, 1949. Fourteen fraters were initiated by members of the Supreme Chapter. The Rho Chapter again stepped forth to help advance the profession of pharmacy, to help his fellow fraters and to take part in community and school affairs. Rho Chapter is truly following and spreading the aims and ideals of Peace, Friendship, and Brotherly Love. Rho Chapter's activities at the college include the sponsoring of the PRESCRIPTION DANCE which provides funds for the Morris Cold Loan Fund. The fund is to help worthy students complete their pharmacy education. The chapter appreciates the help and support of the faculty and students in all our contacts. 56
