Harvey Smith at Russell Mili- tary Academy in New Haven, Conn. on May 30, 1879. It was established as a combined medical and pharmacy fraternity. In 1924 Kappa Psi became solely a Pharmacy Fraternity while the medical counterpart became Theta Kappa Psi. There were at that time twenty- four collegiate chapters. Through the proper guidance and cooperation of the chapters, Kappa Psi grew. Kappa Psi was first to become a member of the Professional Interfraternity Conference in 1928. As Kappa Psi grew over the years, it became known as a fraternity of high ideals, and an abundant supply of leadership. New chapters throughout the United States were joining the ranks of these leaders. News of this great fraternity was heard by the students and faculty of the St. Louis College of Pharmacy. On March 19, 1946, Gamma Pi Chapter was chartered at this college. After fifteen years of continued success at the college, Gamma Pi Chapter was proud to have their own Dean james R. Thayer as Grand Regent of Kappa Psi 'National Pharmaceutical Fraternity. Gamma Pi Chapter wishes to thank those brothers of Kappa Psi who have aided this chapter in its progress through the years.

James McCowan R120 Chapter Rho Chapter of the Alpha Zeta Omega Pharmaceutical Fraternity was organized at the St. Louis College of Pharmacy in the spring of 1942. The fraternity was organized by a small group of men who believed in and followed the basic principles of the fraternity until its activities were curtailed by the war. A reactivation of the Rho Chapter began in February, 1949. Fourteen fraters were initiated by members of the Supreme Chapter. The Rho Chapter again stepped forth to help advance the profession of pharmacy, to help his fellow fraters and to take part in community and school affairs. Rho Chapter is truly following and spreading the aims and ideals of Peace, Friendship, and Brotherly Love. Rho Chapter's activities at the college include the sponsoring of the PRESCRIPTION DANCE which provides funds for the Morris Cold Loan Fund. The fund is to help worthy students complete their pharmacy education. The chapter appreciates the help and support of the faculty and students in all our contacts. 56
