Catholic Bu iness Education Association The rapid increase in business education enrollments in Catho- lic schools has resulted in a corresponding increase of business teachers throughout the country. As the number of Catholic business teachers increased, they became keenly aware of the need for an organization of their own-one with a simple com- mon purpose: better Catholic business education. ln 1945, a group of religious and lay Catholic educators in New York City laid the groundwork for the formation of the Catholic Business Education Association. lt marked an important milestone in business education in general and in Catholic education in par- ticular. The influence of the Catholic Business Education Association on business education-an influence for good-is already widely recognized. The Association is divided into ten units, each hold- ing its own sectional meetings once a year. The national conven- tion at which all units are represented meets annually. Some of America's foremost business educators are invited to serve on panels, to present addressesjand to demonstrate modern meth- ods and techniques of teaching. Carefully planned exhibits of the latest instructional materials, machines, and equipment have become a companion feature to the programs of these meetings and conventions. In addition to its meetings and conventions, which furnish en- lightenment and inspiration to thousands, the Catholic Business Education Association serves its members in other ways. One of the most noteworthy is its sponsorship of business education clinics, conferences, and workshops, extending over several days, con- ducted in various parts of the country. The association publishes the Catholic Business Education Review, a quarterly magazine which prints important convention proceedings, contributions of specialists participating in various meetings, and articles and comments by other experts. Our entire faculty are active mem- bers of this association. The salesman from Remington Rand Company gives a demonstration of the 1960 machine.
