Guidance Department For the better life adjustment of each Leonardian, St. Leonard's High School has established a Guidance Department with a trained Brother-counselor in charge. The new service assists students with their educa- tional, vocational and personal problems. Ori- entation of Freshmen, administering of in- telligence and reading tests have been under- taken. Seniors have been prepared to meet the challenge of college or post-high school training by group guidance and lectures. Every student has access to the Guidance Ofiice where he may borrow reading matter on the problems of youth or obtain an inter- view with the counselor. In addition to the Guidance Director, a priest is available weekly as Spiritual Di- rector to assist with moral and personal diffi- culties and to aid in the development of healthy souls through the confessional. Rev. Brother Matthias, O.S.F., the Guidance Director, discusses the possibilities of a college education with Thomas Tobin. Placement Department St. Leonard's High School conducts a Place- ment Service, lt has been organized over the years to be of assistance to the young men who are about to graduate. From past experi- ence we have found that many of our gradu- ates have been fortunate in securing a posi- tion that was a stepping stone to bigger and better opportunities. Because of the background of business sub- ject matter, many of the leading business firms in the city call upon us each year to help them secure oflice personnel. From the many responses that we continually receive from these firms we can truthfully say that our graduates have been a credit to the school. -be Rev.
