BROTHER CONRAD, O.S.F., Coach VARSITY Closing the season with a 6-10 record, Brother Con- rad's Team can be very proud of its standing. We lost Captain Joe Sorelli and seniors John Timmins and Dennis Bresnahan because of graduation. This gap was ably lilled by Jerry McManus, the present Captain and leading scorer, the inspired rebounding of Bob Nelson and the driving of Dan Regan. Senior Bernie McSweeney assisted the team tre- mendously with his play making and scrappy ball handling. John Timulty was the fifth regular on the team who helped with rebounding and hook shots. John Gillen, Marty Hardman and John Fabry rounded out the regulars. Since February, the team regulars have been pressed for their positions by Freshman Al Williams and Joe Necci, who will be key men next year. The main problem has been to find some much needed height. Brother Conrad likes the looks of the Freshmen who have come out for practice and hopes to find some more varsity men. Saint Leonard's is deeply grateful to Brother Con- rad, Captain Jerry McManus and all the boys who made this season such a notable one. JAY-VEE BASKETBALL 4 .iV, 1 .si Uri ziilili' 3 f cb 1 . The team specializes in running and hustling Cap- tain Charles Facciponte has helped coach Dan Regan in rounding out the Freshmen so that the Varsity will have veterans to move up to the big team next season. Although frequently out-sized, this peppy little group has more than lived up to expectations, espe- cially since it started late in the season. Next season we can expect even better from the J-V's .
