Don't let the optimism that is always present at the beginning cause you to take too muchg I2 to 15 credits is a fine start. A is for the adjustment Away from home, a new start on your own with no one to check up on you. lf things don't go right talk it over with a friend, your R.A., a teacher. I is for the International Students A special richness of the Saint Leo environment is the opportunity you will have to get to know and become friends with students who represent cultures other than your own. N is for the Night Life What is there to do on a small campus in a rural setting at night? There is the never ending battle of doing homework or you couldjoin the theater group or the college choir and so on. T is for tradition Saint Leo is a young, developing Catholic College but we already have some honored traditions that you will soon experience. And because we are young you can plan on creating new traditions as we grow together. i L is for Letters You've got to keep in touch with the folks back home so make plans now to maintain contact with old friends as you prepare to make new ones. The letter from home along with a few extra dollars is always welcomed. E is for Exercise The College believes a healthy mind deserves a healthy body. there are countless opportunities for exercise and recreation. Saint Leo is not a spectator L college so plan to participate. L O is for Crganizations y Extracurricular involvement is an important aspect of the educational process T here: just make sure you budget your time right. C is for Cafeteria College cooks can't match mom's effort at every meal. Has something to do with numbers. They welcome your suggestions, and an occasional night on the T town helps. O is for Open Visitation y Your campus room is your home and you can entertain guests of the opposite sex there. L is for Lectures l Lectures. laboratories and libraries are essential parts of the learning adventure. L is for leaving for the weekend Getting away whenever time and money permit is a worthwhile diversion. E is for Expectations All 'those positive things that you and your family expect of you: your reasons for going to college. Be flexible enough to change your goals in light of new experiences. G is for the Groves Florida is famous for oranges, grapefruit and other citrus products which grow on trees. The temptation is great but be careful: snakes like the trees and the fine for trespassing is stiff. E is for ENTHUSIASM Enthusiasm grows each day. We welcome every new day with great optimism. l
