DEDI CA T10 in loving memoriam to Brother ua' Francis QI 2 Probably Brother Jud didn't know how true his words were when he said in 1974, l've got several good years left in me yet and I want to give them to God. Less than 4 years later, he hurried off to his Godin his sleep on Feb. 13, 1978. He was 67. Even though he always enjoyed a close and friendly relation- ship with his maker, after he retired in 1972 he looked around for a closer friendship. So in 1974 he joined the Floridian Benedictines as an Oblate. An Oblate attaches himself to a Benedictine monastery by agreement that permits him to leave at his own discretion or to be dismissed by the Abbot. He follows the same rule of St. Ben- edict that all Benedictine Monks do. Brother Jud was Business Manager of Saint Leo Abbey, trea- surer ofthe National Assembly of Religious Brothers and direc- tor of Florida's Benedictine Oblates. He was also the beloved Moderator of Delta Phi Delta Sorority and his Sisters touch his life with their delicate words of love
