Durmg the school year, followlng the home basketball games, they were conunued. Durlng the hohdays corsages were made by members of the class and sold to students, faculty, and frrends It lS hoped that as the year progresses we may have other acuvlues 1n order that our budget wxll grow as we make preparatrons for our Semor year. 33 GRADE 9 This year our freshman class has approximately 115 students. At the beginning of the school year we gladly welcomed the students who transferred from St. Joseph's Academy to S.L,C. to complete their secondary education. During the school year many new students entered from various parts of the state and country as a result of the Seaway Project. The class officers were elected early in September. This year the band participated in the All State Band at Potsdam. During the holiday seasm the band took part in the Christmas Concert together with the Junior Band and Choral group. Throughout the year the band played at various activity programs. 60 F00'l'BALl, After two years of interruption, we re -captured the FootballTitle. We had formerly held this title for five years. The title was won with fighting spirit, We are looking forward to keeping the title for as long, if not longer, than before. Of course, we will be losing some top Veterans, but their places will be filled by some old Veterans, and many newcomers all eager to play with a Championship team. The 1955 baseball team had a most successful season in the Northern League . During the regular season of play, the Larries won six games, lost three, with a final League standing of second place. In the Section 10 play-offs, St. Lawrence Central won from Potsdam Central School -3. The final game of the season was 6-2, and from Norwood-Norfolk Central School 4 against Franklin Academy, Malone, for first place. Malone won this game 6-3.
