On June 4, after three vigorous days of finals, the Viking ship reached its destina- tion as another year came to a close. Though it is hard to fathom all the homework assignments that had been done and copied as well as all the jugs that had been served by so many Vikes, the time spent here had on the whole been an in- teresting experience. Academically, the Vikes had pushed themselves to their limits in such deman- ding courses as film studies. Though the Vikes fell short of their ex- pectations in Football, they did achieve considerable success on the wrestling mats, the basketball court, and the baseball field. Arriual Coach Trombetta showed that St. Laurence is a true state power in Wrestl- ing as Coach Prestinario and his Big Gold thrilled everyone by taking the Richard's Regional. Likewise, Baseball made a big name for the Vikes in state play. Once again the Vikes demonstrated their usual qualities of leadership, perfor- mance, and spirit as everyone had a great time at Home Coming, Junior and Senior Prom, and the Sophomore Date Dance. The students demonstrated social awareness by electing a non-traditional Student Council President. The year showed the Vikes to be dif- ferent and challenging.
