Reverend Anthony A. Majewski Pastor five

Qn JliA, 45tU AiwiiteAAGVuf,, We dedicate a the, Hallad f Oust JHcdLf, this humble collection of treasured memories garnered within the walls of this shrine erected to Christ and His Mother for the education and sanctification of youth. Rosary in hand, Father Majewski, like another Alfred, enchants through Our Lady’s intercession, the hearts of his youthful parishioners. His ballad is the 45-year span of his priestly life, each year of which tells of hidden but heroic deeds. His lyre is the rosary which he fingers inconspicuously many times a day as he strolls from the rectory to the church, to school and back. In ballad fashion, his refrain is the never-ending recurrence of new begin- nings — a temporary church, school, rectory, convent, followed by semi-permanent buildings. A few years later, another giant-size construction program includes a new church, the remodeling of the rectory, the convent, and the old church, the latter being converted into a permanent gym. But the master ballad singer in his zeal to give the very best lie could provide Tor his youthful charges, forgot to rest his lyre until the strings could no longer stand the tension, and gave way one by one. His ballad is a simple one — that of every pastor of a growing parish. No glamor surrounds the life of the parish priest. It is the monotonous refrain of a ballad, the sameness occasionally broken by little glints of true poetry, the visible good wrought for souls. We, the graduates of ’58. hope that these pages will prove to you, that through our education at the elementary and high school level, you have been instrumental in making us better Catholics and useful citizens. The thousands of student who have graduated from this, the first parochial high school in Hamtramck, will be eternally grateful to you. Father Majewski, for attracting them through Our Lady to Christ, through your ballad played upon the harp of your rosary. AD MULTOS ANNOS !

Reverend Andrew Nieckarz the ViAia+i of a jUift gm£ Vihsvani GltAjAiia+i The priest like another Moses leads his people to a land of new vision, that of the Promised Land, that of a life with a new closeness to Christ and to apostolic times through a revival of the early Christian liturgy. He serves as a guide and an interpreter of the significance of the ancient ceremonies in the daily life of modern Christians. The Church, as if anticipating the second coming of Christ, is leading her children to a closer union with Christ by every possible means, even the restoration of the early liturgy. The priest serves as the link between the Church and her children. He holds the vision of eternal life before them to inspire them ever to a closer imitation of Him Who is the Beatific Vision. EMPHASIS ON YOUTH was the theme of the Catholic Youth Week assembly sponsored by Seniors Ronald Gurdak, Richard Mroc ek. Anthony Wieczorek. Walter Gozdor. Richard Marck. Robert Misko, Suzan Toraaszcwski. chairman; Lorraine Skibinski. Jane Pydvnkowski, Christine Kopkowski. Mary Ann Golas cwski, Barbara Slcd inski. and Nadine Campl cll whom Father Andrew Nieckarz congratulates.
