M edve... , We maintain that our experiences at St. Justinfs have been many and various, and that they are Worth recording. . Today we are graduatingg tomorrow we begin a new life: but yester- day! . . . Yesterday we entered St. Justin High School. VVe expected much . . . and got it. Four years of friendships, of' ups and downs, of suc- cesses and failures: four years of character formation, of discipline, and of training: four years of' mingled duty and fun, four years of slips and lapses, four years of regrets and rejoicings. If we escaped initiation, we were victims of a divided freshman class. YVe presented plays, partici- pated in sports, and sponsored a memorable Breakfast for the Seniors at the Mayflower Hotel. A prom came our way. YVe planned it with good taste and pleasure, and enjoyed it on a balmy night in May. We staged a Mardi Gras festival as juniors and again as seniors. If we became in- volved individually and collectively in many a scrape, We also won a Spelling Bee and a Mass Attendance Record. Three of' our boys brought honor to our school as debaters, and three of our girls did us proud as 'fharmonizers.H Four of' our classmates won scholarships, and ten of' our number made the Glee Club. The most valuable football player, and the star basketball player are both members of our class. I Of' one heart, of one creed, and of one philosophy, we have been trained for purposeful living. Should any of us fail to live up to the ideals set before us by our teachers, we shall be the first to judge our- selves harshly . . . because of four happy and fruitful years spent at St. Juslins TlfB1SENIORS

ABE ALMOST AT THE, HELM forward to a Fifty-four faces--youthful, hopeful, and eager, look Senior year as happy and eventful as the three they have just completed. From the hills of Beechview, Brookline, Beltzhoover, and the Mount, they came to St. justin's - the only year the football team didnft do so well. In this year they accentuated their youth by staging The M'11.si1'zLf Sclzoolroom, starrin Geor e Short Pants Cronin, and the memorable . . 3 , . g , ., production Archibald. 1 hey were voted l oo Hot to Handle. Came the sophomore year and with it Detention Hall, the Monitor System, and the separation of the sexes . . . the boys to the right and girls to the left with different ideas and separate officers. Though the theme song of both groups was I Gel Along Without You Very VVell, the classes were not divided in spirit for they can boast of sponsoring jointly the most successful Breakfast ever given for a graduating class. And yet there was a distinctive spirit of independence: The men folk made a fabulous sum chancingl' a radio ..., S uns les fenznzes, and the girls retaliated by staging a delightful St. Patrick's Day Uperetta .... s 'uns les hmmnes. As sophisticated juniors they joined forces, these boys and girls, and then were divided into mixed groups A and B. One of their members was the only girl on the championship debating team, another girl won first prize in the Spelling Bee, and many of their boys starred in sports. They planned an elaborate prom, went patriotic and didactic in their assembly programs, racked their brains to solve formulas, and dug deep into their pockets to pay for broken test tubes. They argued in French, differed in Latin, and refuted in Shorthand.
