iaith 7564 3046- a 014 mow Za Rev. Frederick N. Dincher, S. I., was one of those rare men who possessed both a theologi- cal vision that is reminiscent of Iohn the Beloved, and a gentleness of spirit that is seen only in those who are close to God. All those who know the spiritual heights he was able to reach in his lectures, know what it is to soar like an eagle over the extent of human knowl- edge and bounds of human suffering. Whether lecturing upon the limping mind of man, or the fiery comets over the Bontoc Mountains in Northern Luzon, or the wheels of a slowly moving cart, he would always seem to point and say, See how God provides for you. See how God loves you. The significance of the truth he taught was radiated and heightened by his loving familiar- ity with it and his individual way of presenting it. Very few will forget his description of the lunior-Faculty Baseball Game, Fr. Dincher, second from left, contemplates teammate s hit. . :aa L yxfsfg- M '.1.g,-if ,.- A . Years passed and the horses paced upon the concourse below. The stallions have long since quit the race, but the slow, hard trot of Christianity continues over the ages and through time, never stopping, never rest- ing till all the world should come to the knowl- edge and love of Christ and His Church.' The Graduating Class of '53 look to Father Dincher and the Iesuits who remain with us, for personal inspiration and intellectual assistance in the struggle against paganism and powers of evil in this working day world. May we bear our trials as this man did, for his character was wrought in the white-heat of prolonged suffering and turned by God's grace to pure gold. Pii!:'lQ,2 Prayer and Thought his keynote
