5? If, in a hundred years of play production the Cap and Bells had ever faced a crucial test, the undertak- ing of HAMLET was that test. Behind the club were the triumphs of Antigone, of Twelfth Night, and the previous standard of perfection, Othel1o. A failure now, a flub of the greatest drama, would topple years of building. Production started, intense from the very beginning in mid-summer. There were squalls, bumps, and obstacles to be surpassed but the triumphant climax, HAMLET, was reward for all, the eclipse of all previous accomplishments. The credit for this success cannot go to one man, but must go to everyone connected with this produc- tion, to prexy and production manager Ianke, to Frank Hamlet Roach, to designer King Heine, to the ladies of the show: Misses Mary Dooley and Mona Flanigan. To name the rest of those who made this Centennial production a true reward for one hundred years work would be to list each and every member of the club, therefore we can only say congratulations.
