WHAT WE ARE Continuing a tradition of 390 years stand- ing, the St. Ioseph's College Sodality, itself 102 years old, is an association of Our Lady Whose members aim at personal sanctity and apos- tolic Work. . Striving to live up to his consecration to Mary, the Sodalist conforms his faith and life entirely to the faith and morals which the Catholic Church teaches. Further, since Sodal- ists are Mary's visible hands on earth he steps into the Social Apostolate to work for the sanctification of others and to spread and defend the Catholic Church. Since the Sodality fulfills the essentials for Catholic Action, viz., ill organization, f2l a mandate from the Bishop, and 13? members who are intent on personal sanctity, it is no Wonder that the Holy Father has declared that the Sodality may be called with the fullest right 'Catholic Action under the auspices and inspiration of the Blessed Virgin Mary.' In accord With the aim of Apostolic Work, some Sodalists are scout leaders, others are readers to the blind at Overbrook, some pro- vided a Christmas entertainment at the Little Sisters of the Poor Home for the Aged. The combined Sodalities took the orphans from St. Iohn's to the St. Ioseph-Georgetown basketball game, and also conducted a Square Dance to point the Way to Wholesome recreation. Moreover, the Sodality arranged for the establishment of a Confraternity of Christian Doctrine unit on the campus, took over the Snow Ball netting 5550.00 for the Iesuit Mis- sions and established the 25-Club for the Iesuit Missions.
