FOREWORD N the compilation of this volume, we, the Senior Class, have attempted to digress gracefully from the cus- ' tomary procedure of confining these records solely to the Activities of the Senior Class. We have endeavored to recount every project that has been sponsored by each Class of the Student Body during the past year, in pref- erence to the traditional method of featuring each enter- prise of one Class, the Seniors, during their four years at St. Joseph's College. For our theme, we have chosen to demonstrate the growth of the Society of Jesus in Amer- ica. This will not be disclosed by a use of flowery rhetoric, but, rather, in accordance with Jesuit ideals, it will be done simply. Confucius said that one picture is worth a thousand words. Hence, we shall use pictures-pictures of present Jesuit insti- tutions of learning. By recalling their humble beginning, we can readily discern, through contrast, their valiant advance.
