The Council. under the supervision of Sister Josephine strives to make St. joseph's School the best by pointing out to the students the need for self-restraint and self-government, now and in the future, It is a democracy within school, likened to democracy within America, in so far as it is the will of the ci Remembering the family spirit which exists among all students of St. Joe's, the Student Council shows its ap- preciation, to the parting seniors. It is a demonstration of the unity and love they bear one another. A few hours spent in good entertainment. l,- students talking through their representatives. It projects the necessity of individual thought for common benefit. The students are to be commended for splendid cooperation with patrols and Student Council officials. With these thoughts in mind there can be little reason why one cannot see how the Student Council has been a success and will continue to be so in the future.

promoting friend! relations, Under the capable direction of Mr. Robert Long. the St. -Ioseph's Drum and Bugle Corps has made great strides in marching and in four part harmony. In May 1955 they tied for first place in competition at Bridgeton. Parades followed quickly during the summer -july 4th in Florence. baby parades in Sea Isle and Ocean Cities, and in Philadelphia for the Knights of Columbus convention. YVe won first prize in both of the parades held during Egg Harbor's Centennial, and also a number of them in Harnmonton. St. Josephs is now working hard for competitions which are to take place in the coming months. Best of luck! The Color Guard entered its first competition and won second prize. Left to right: M. Brennan, C. Finan. R, Kaiser, C. Gantner, J. Kennedy, M. Rubba, A. Monastra. It is through constant practice that they have been able to produce such fascinating drills while the beat of the drums and the blowing of trumpets have thrilled those listening and looking. Again, we owe much to the untiring director who is so exacting and ready to give so willing of lris efforts, We expect to make rapid progress in the next year by giving all we have towards this cause.
