The nucleus of our I955-56 feam will be formed by Paul, fha leading scorer, and Bobby. fhe fhird highesf scorer of fhe i954-55 foam. i954-55 Varsify Baslreiball Squad: Kneel- ing. Capfain Bob Jiampeffi. Sfanding, leff fo righf: Charles Wafson, lie Macri, Bob Sfeeb, Tom Pefruni, Ronnie Rodio, Frank Donio, Don Federico, Paul Sfeeb and Bill Juliano. Liffle Jimmy Gehringer lefs go a iump shot in fhe Hammonfon-Sf. Joe JV game. The JV's composed mainly of freshmen, 'lurned in a respecfable and encouraging performance for fha year. Swish!! Paul Si'eab's iump shot in fhe final minufe of fhe Clayfon game, proved fo be fhe margin of vicfory in a 38-37 fhriller. Losing by fhree poinis wifh two minufes remaining, Paul con- necfed wifh fwo consecuiive field goals and fhe feam successfully froze fhe ball for ihe remainder of fha game fo insure Sf. Bobby proved himself capable oT Turning in a well played game aT eiTher posiTion and Turned in a Team leading .345 baTTing average, llcelvlacri, who alTernaTed in The inTield and ouTTieId was a close runner-up wiTh a .333 average. The Team sTarTed badly wiTh The hiTTing power in a slump and The piTching handicapped by poor supporT. Experience proved To be The deciding TacTor in The Team's campaign and each game saw a beTTer manned nine Talce The Tield represenTing The Red and WhiTe, AlThough, ST. Joes won only one game ouT oT nine played This season.
