You have been to us confidants and advisors, patient and inspiring teachers, and leaven to our spirits. To you, then, we offer our heartfelt thanks for the many sacrifices you have-made in order to give us the opportunity to secure the founda- tion of a solid Christian education. We hope to prove to you in the years to come that your sacrifices have not been made in vain. Evarista Dear Graduates, This year of 1955 is your turn to say Farewell,' to your Alma Mater. You have been singularly blessed with a good Catholic Education which no human power can take from you. You are well fortified and exceptionally prepared to carry on successfully your mission of life whither-so-ever it may carry you. Like the Crusaders of old, who Went forth to conquer the Holy Land with the sword in one hand and the cross, the emblem of their salvation, in the other, so too, do you go forth through the portals of your school out into the busy avenues of life bearing the principles of education and the high ideals of religion in one hand, and your diploma, the emblem of success, in the other,-true soldiers of fortune indeed. going forth, in quest of cherished laurels of the business world. May you go forth then with the resolve that you will be faithful to the instructions received here during your school days, and in this way show honor to those for whose care and training you are grateful. In times of doubt, a mariner on the sea keeps his eye fixed on a guiding star. May you, too, when doubt or temptation comes, raise your hearts to Our Mother in Heaven, Our Star of Hope. May She ever keep Her protecting mantle of blue around the Class of 1955, until you behold Her and Her Divine Son, Face to Face on the Great Commencement Day. have instructed ns and taught ns Sister Marie Augusta Administration Reverend john P. A Schultz-Gargiulo Aerial, doing the trick, A small but determined Immaculate Conception club tried hard, but all they could manage was six points to our boys 26. Then the fun began. We dropped our first game of the season to Red Bank Catholic, a hard running ball club, 14-0. Snyder handed us our second defeat in a row, though the Blue Jayls actually thought they should have won. This tally was 25-7. The Demarest game was close and proved to be interesting, though our boys found themselves on the tail end of a 13-0 score. The St. Cecilia's game was a rout. Our boys could not find the range. We lost 27-0. Playing the last game of the season, our gallant club found it hopeless against an experienced Union Hill squad. The losing score was 19-0. Though the season turned out to be quite unsuc- cessful, we will tip our hats to the hard-working spirited fellows who tried their best, under the lead- ership of Father Fitzpatrick.
