Thor was rhe rheme for rhe 1sr annual Crop walk in Sourh Dend. On April 16 many srudenrs ac- rively expressed rheir concern for world hunger by wolWng in rhe IVi mile walk. The Hunger Aboli- rion Corps decided rhor rhey would like ro be involved in more than rhe food drive rhis year,- so rhey gor in rouch wirh rhe people or CROP. CROP is o narionol orgo- nizorion cenrered in Elkhorr ro fighr hunger. CROP senr informorion on rhe CROP walte rhar rhey had sponsored in orher dries and H.A.C. presidenrs, Richord Pilger and James Dullard ser ro work. They gor in rouch wirh differenr churches and schools in rhe area, ond began publicizing rhe wolk. Here or Sr. Joe Rev. Tom Wilson, who runs rhe soup kirchen or rhe Firsr Merhodisr Church spoke ro sru- denrs encouraging rhem ro ger in- volved. The walk drew close ro 500 people and raised over $1000. Overall, organizers were happy wirh rhe ourcome and ore plon- ning on onorher wolk for rhe 1983- 84 school year. Direcred by Dr. Phillip Smirh, rhe musical comedy was accompanied by Mrs. LuAnn Sreiner, choreographed by Mrs. Riro Gerencher. Mrs. Sreiner olso direcred rhe choral numbers. Sru- denrs and aduirs olike enjoyed rhe humor and rhe obsurdiry of rhe siruarions rhar MARY SUNSHINE and her friends, rhe girls from Easrches- rer Finishing School and rhe boys of rhe Forest Rangers, found Them- selves in. The girls were played by Denise Scorbec!-;, Korhleen Lyon, Korhleen Murphy, Ann Walsh, Lor- raine Crawford, and Cindy Mo- kowski, while rhe Rangers were played by Jock Dlal-;ey, Arrhur Lyon, Thomas Keller, David Mar- rin. Den Aquino, and Par Horvorh Heidi Heller played Mary ro Doug Graczyk ' s Caproin Dig Jim; rhey hope ro serrle down underneorh rhe Colorado sky afrer Jim com- pletes his final mission: copturing rhe renegade Indian, Yellow Feorher, played by Kothy Skor- beck. SUNSHINE hod, of course, irs collection of young lovers in rhe girls and the rongers, and also irs older lovers in Ernesrine (Emily Howard) and rhe Army General (Drian Perry). Mary ' s moid Nancy (Colleen Goddord) and Corporal Dilly Jester (Will Morgan) also hove plans for rhe future One of the many memorable scenes wos when Chief Drown Dear (Dill Webb) adopted Dilly as his son and honorary member of the Kodoto rribe.
