The Hunger Aboli- rion Corps decided rhor rhey would like ro be involved in more than rhe food drive rhis year,- so rhey gor in rouch wirh rhe people or CROP. CROP is o narionol orgo- nizorion cenrered in Elkhorr ro fighr hunger. CROP senr informorion on rhe CROP walte rhar rhey had sponsored in orher dries and H.A.C. presidenrs, Richord Pilger and James Dullard ser ro work. They gor in rouch wirh differenr churches and schools in rhe area, ond began publicizing rhe wolk. Here or Sr. Joe Rev. Tom Wilson, who runs rhe soup kirchen or rhe Firsr Merhodisr Church spoke ro sru- denrs encouraging rhem ro ger in- volved. The walk drew close ro 500 people and raised over $1000. Overall, organizers were happy wirh rhe ourcome and ore plon- ning on onorher wolk for rhe 1983- 84 school year.
