More Than Just A Football Game The halls were decorated, the court was selected, and St. Joe spirit was at a peak. All that was needed was a win over Marian to make the 1981 Football Homecoming perfect. The football team more than accomplished this task overpowering the Knights 31-0. The first half was a time of suspense for the crowd and the court. The high point of the half-time activities was the presentation of the student-elect- ed court, which included Terri Austin and Jay Lewis, Becky DeLeu and George Carlin. Jody Megyese and T.J. Ahearn. Amy Oswald and W.R. Mack, Trice Rose and Kelly Coleman, Monica Walters and Mark Geissler, and Chris Witucki and Kevin Gibbons. The sus- pense finally ended when Becky DeLeu and Kelly Coleman were announced queen and king. After the game, many students re- turned to the school cafeteria, cele- brating the victory with a pizza party. Left — Kelly Coleman crowns his new queen. Campus Ministry Alive And Well At St, Joe St. Joseph ' s is a unique high school because support is given not only to the intellectual and physical lives of the students, but also to their spiritual and religious lives. This support at St. Joe is directed through the Campus Ministry Department, which is respon- sible for the school masses and over- night retreats. In the 1981-82 school year they have been very successful in fulfilling the spiritual needs of the stu- dents. This success is evident in the large participation of the student body in the programs available to them. Working in union with Campus Minis- try, students are involved in the Litur- gical Planning Committee, the Liturgi- cal Music Group, the Retreat Planning Committee, and as Eucharistic minis- ters, lectors, and acolytes for masses. One of the highlights this year was Bishop McManus ' visit on the feast of St. Joseph. The bishop spent the day visiting with students and faculty.
