With the space explorations and the new discoveries in the sciences, man has undergone a marked change. In his daily life, he is always seeking new ways for a better living by means of knowledge and experimenta- tion. That is why, this year, St. Joseph's again made available its Science and Math Clubs to the possible future scientists and mathematicians of the world. The Science Clubs, under the direction of Mrs. Carol Summers and Mr. David Malone, delved into the ques- tions of the individual members. By experimenting, participating in field trips, and inviting people well versed in a specific scientific Held to speak to them, the future scientists were able to gain more knowledge in the art of science. In particular, the boys' club also explored the realm of qualitative analysis. This year the girls' Math Club was moderated by Sister M. Rose Veronica, C.S.C. The members studied the set theory which aided them in preparing for the future math courses. Through the work of the Science and Math Clubs, the members were able to gain a more complete un- derstanding of their specific field. Thus, in their high school years, avid students were given an opportu- nity to decide in the scientific or mathematical field was to be their avocation in future life. THE SClENCE CLUB'S AQUARIUM receives samples of marine life from Jim Seach and John Ryan. Holls, John Gerwels, Patrick Govern, Frank Barrett. KBACK ROWJ: Larry Morningstar, John Kenny, Ed Nowacki, Arthur Thompson, George Vogler, Larry Stauder, Tim Hartzer, James Hackett, Alan Golichowski. uction QQ' 31
