Dedication . . . This book is dedicated to Drexel Hall and the hundreds of individuals who lived and loved there . . . Although it may seem ironic to dedicate a book to a building, we feel it is appropriate for this yearbook Drexel Hall was the original Saint Joseph’s. It was built in 1888 to house an independent Indian boarding school. The rest of St. Joe’s grew up around Drexel administration felt it was economically unfeasible to keep it open. The remaining twenty or so “Drexelites” were quickly rehoused on campus . . . The closing of Drexel Hall is an example of the game of life. Once it was very important to St. Joe’s and today it no longer exists . . . Play the game and enjoy it. But when it is over . . . accept it and start a new game . . .
