He first came to Saint Joseph ' s in 1941-43. After his studies at Saint Charles Seminary, he returned to the college in 1949 and was appointed Assistant Librarian in 1950. He became Head Li¬ brarian in 1952 and was named Executive Assistant to the Presi¬ dent in September of 1964. He is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, the nat ional scholastic honor society, and Beta Phi Mu, the national library science honorary fraternity. Father Charles H. Banet, C.PP.S., has been President of Saint Joseph ' s since June of 1965. Father Banet, who is Second Con- suitor of the Cincinnati Province of the Society of the Precious Blood, is a 45-year-old native of Fort Wayne, Ind. He was edu¬ cated at Saint Charles Seminary, Carthagena, Ohio, from 1943- 49 and was ordained in 1949. He received his bachelor ' s degree at Saint Joseph ' s in 1950 and a Master ' s degree in Library Sci¬ ence from the University of Michigan in 1951. Since his appointment as President of Saint Joseph ' s College, Father Banet has been the inspiration behind many innovations on the Collegeville campus, latest of these being a concentrated effort in the vital area of curriculum revision. Nearing completion is a new dormitory, planned to house approximately 250 stu¬ dents, half of whom will be Saint Joseph ' s first residential coeds in September, 1968. The fostering of our academic community represents the heart of his task as Father Banet steers the col¬ lege through the challenging years ahead.
