M' 4 um. The band provides the music for the parades and reviews. The music department enjoyed a very active year. The band made several trips with the teams and played for all home games. The chorus assisted in the singing of the Faure Requiem at Fort Hays State College. Outfitted in new uniforms, the band and Crack Platoon thrill- ed thousands at various civic cele- brations throughout, t h e state, marching' in the parades as a unit. Mr. Tom Gatschet is band director, Father Timothy, O.F.M.Cap., di- rects the choral groups. THE BEST BANDSMAN AWARD went to Patrick Giebler. GERALD VITZTUM WON THE ALUMNI GOLD KEY for the highest number of honor points accumulated in his four years in the band. 36
