The Cadet track team produced at least one champion this year in Tom Rupp, winner of the triple crown in the mile event. Another outstand- ing thinclad was freshman Duane Weigel. His specialty is the 440. Verlyn Schmidt, sophomore half- miler, has shown great promise in running his specialty in 2:10, a very creditable performance. With aspirants in all departments, Sy Palmer, head' track coach, is look- ing forward to having a strong team for the next two or three years. The team is especially strong in promis- ing runners.
