VI We Learn by Doing There is hardly a branch of schooling where one cannot get practical work to augment the text book treatment. It is the policy of St. Josephis to make each subject as practical as possible. Visual aids are used' in every department. The sciences, in particular, are given special stress in the fully-equipped laboratories of the school. Every facility is offered to the high school student, facilities which are often found only in colleges. There have been not a few high school graduates who have stepped into important jobs in industry after com- pleting the high school science courses as given at St. Joseph's. Besides the sciences, manual arts training is also given. Students in the radio class get practical work building their own radios. Richard Odette and Maurice Redetzke built several units.
