We have dwelled on our island, allowing ourselves to be molded by the nourishing tides, for a time that we will long remember. Here, we were given space to run and explore, shelter through the stormy times, and hope for always. I F... -. 2 Each of us came to this island empty and alone, but we leave with a bond to each other which cannot be diminished by time or phys- ical distance. Now we will travel that open shoreline, better because of our island strong- hold, cherishing the setting sun on the hori- zon, looking forward with joy and wonder to the daybreaks ahead. X .-- 'x .ds-XA. ,, There are shore lengths of untreated opportunities waiting to be explored . . . ff Q X V! e :FH b , X. R cl .I ' xfffw xx 'M A f li There are all kinds of experiences, Seas of friendships and acquaintances, oceans of untapped knowledge . . . And as we explore the beaches of life we have lingered for four years, searching for friendship, knowledge, and Opportunity. . - - H 'r ' ' ' 'Q-..'. 51 .11 .,-, :' l .gig yp? -- 3 ' ?' K , . ,Li pw. We can be blown out to sea as quickly as a feather in a harsh wind. But, there has been a beacon in the darkness for us, whose warm heart, friendly wit, enlightened mind, and deep spirit have called us back to land. She came in the sum- mer of 1979, only a few months before our Freshman year, and has grown with us for the past four years. She allowed the sands to shift enough to make room for the new students, but not so much that we became un- recognizable as a class. From her work in the library, to her presence at a party, she has taught us to resist the light breezes, to bend with the fierce winds, and to keep a firm grip so as not to be swept away completely. Her light has never once gone out, or even faded. Her pres- ence among us has only changed by becoming stronger. CIML Dim NO V4 She has given us her light, and she has become an ever- lasting part of us. Winds will blow again, and time will always pass, but with- in our hearts will be one constant light- the gift of our friend, Sister Agnes Meagher. This yearbook is a re- flection on her light. 7 yr . 'gf-.Wi-iff A- ,K.x', kia.. Crashing waves and subtle under- tows could have overwhelmed us had we not had a strong foundation on which to lean. Rocks of invigoration, always upholding, encouraging, and standing firm, have helped to guide us along the open beach. .u H- ...-z f1:1--.ffwfffxiizwblai v U, ... ll , Q- w1s'iw17'?:fY ' u v , I V A q , , -1- ., 1 vp., v .1n ' .v.. --. -. .
