The crackle of leaves underfoot seems to disturb the still night air as it recoils and withdraws between trees, stealing away back- wards and swiftly racing into the sky through branches. ln its wake, dawn reveals her- self. Cold, pale and deli- cate, yet majestic, she rises in victory over night, and in quietude reigns. Again we can take up our journey, walking in the light, secure and cherishing hope from our inspiration of doybreak, that we too, will conquer and return. it 5'4 . On February 28, in the com- pany of family and friends, twenty-one students received their school rings. Emotions and songs of praise filled the chapel as all became one in this celebra- tion. Ann Powers, of the Child Study Department, stressed the ring as a symbol of unity, a reminder of academic achievements, enrich- ment, knowledge, and friend- ship. Father Michael blesses the rings. 70 Ann Powers gives the keynote oddress. Ring Day below: The four musketeers . . . The giant moon at our backs throws hideously long shadows of our bodies looming over the wild roses and goldenrod and the crawling strawberries.
